National Certificate of Educational Achievement

Freyberg High School

Aotearoa New Zealand’s national secondary school qualification is NCEA. This is the qualification that most Freyberg students aim for. Information on how NCEA works is best found on the NZQA website where there is both a written description and an animated video.

Each year, our Student Assessment Handbook is published to guide students through the adminstration of NCEA, and their rights and responsibilities.

The Freyberg Student Assessment Handbook 2024 is a reference for students doing NCEA Level 1, 2 or 3 and outlines the school’s systems and processes for NCEA.

Further NCEA specific information can be found at the NZQA website, including what is so far confirmed about future NCEA changes at Level 1.
