The Teen Parent Unit (TPU) aims to provide a holistic educational experience for High School aged students who are either pregnant or have a child.
Study Options
Students study towards NCEA levels 1, 2 and 3.
Each student has an individual learning plan to help them reach their goals.
Currently there are four specialist teachers on staff.
Support Staff
A social worker is available to help students with any problems they may have e.g. housing, WINZ etc.
A Youth Nurse is available once a week.
The TPU aims to develop student skills to manage everyday life including dealing with large companies and organisations.
Developing student confidence and self -belief is a crucial aim of the unit.
