Music Groups
Freyberg runs three concert bands, a senior jazz band and a number of ensembles whch are formed to take part in competitions (such as Rock Quest and Chamber Music) and concerts. There are two choirs; an all-comers choir and an audition choir called Bella and the Fellas who perform in the Big Sing each year.
Instrument Tuition
All students at Freyberg can enrol in the itinerant music programme to learn from a wide range of instruments including brass, woodwind, strings, percussion, guitar and voice. Lessons are held in class time by qualified tutors.
Performances
Regular concerts give students the opportunity to perform in public. Major trips are undertaken every two to three years. Recent trips have included a visit to Melbourne, Sydney and China. Musical productions are staged every two years.
