In February we started building our 50cc 70cc motor bikes. We worked every Tuesday and Friday after school to get the bikes done. Next was scrutinizing to make sure the bikes were race ready and safe to go out on the track.
Once that was finished it was racing time we had a crew of people to help and race we all had our challenges but we all helped each other out and had lots of fun.
Over all Freyberg got 2nd out of 9 schools.
“It’s a great feeling to know that I raced something that I built from scratch”
“A lot of blood sweat and tears went in to our bikes”
We have grown from 15 machines in 2016, to about 25 machines operational in 2017. Both sidecars managed to put in a good appearance on the track, all 70cc bikes performed admirably – finishing the majority of their races in good positions.
Even the temperamental 50cc minibikes performed well, with a number of impressive finishes for the Freyberg team.
