Big Splash

With a bombing competition, floating wrestling, and whole house ‘through the pool’ competitions, there was a lot of splashing at the indoor Freyberg Community Pool, this week.

The Year 13 Recreation Studies students who ran the event chose a hippie theme, and kept the carnival atmosphere going with live music and costumes.

After 10 rounds of inter-house activities, the house competition had a very close finish. The final result saw Tararua House in first place with Kapiti House close behind. Manawatu House came third, thanks to the very last swimmer of the last race.

Final Results:

  1. Tararua House – 805 points
  2. Kapiti House – 770 points
  3. Manawatu House – 585 points
  4. Ruahine House – 586 points

Teacher in charge, Brooke Argyle was proud of the way her students came together for the event, singling out MC Travis Tapuke, and event manager Tayla Shearsby for keeping activities entertaining and prompt.
